Hi my name is David.

This is my first time on this site and I would like to know if somebody can help me.

I have a 3 year relationship with my girlfriend who is a Canadian citizen and I have been trying to find answers on how to immigrate to Canada.  I am a Mexican Citizen and would like to know the process of staying in Canada for longer then 6 months.  From what I understand, I do not need a Visa to stay for 6 months but I would like to stay longer and live with my girlfriend.  We have not been living together consecutively in those 3 years.  We have been back and forth visiting eachother for periods of time.  We want something more constant in our relationship and want to take the next step by living together.

If I visit Canada, during the 6 months, can I apply PR, or any other permits(papers) that will allow me to stay with my girlfriend legally?

I understand that are relationship can not be considered a common law relationship but we both do not know what else we can do to.

Can someone please help us find the information neeeded, so that we can be together.  We are not ready for marriage yet but do consider it in the future.

Thank you

Hola David

So if you guys are not ready to get married, then try applying by yourself

try this assessment and see if you are elegible as Skilled worker

Hi again,

I want to thank you, Eduardo Picazo for the advise that you have given. Unfortunately,  I do not have enough points to immigrate to canada as a skilled worker.  Is there any other way that I can go to Canada and live there.

Ex. I visit Canada as a visitor, and then, when I get there could I apply for my permenant residence, work permit or something that will help me stay there and live in Canada with my girlfriend?

I have visited before for 4 months so you think this will help me when applying for any papers?

Can I apply for work in Cananda even though I do not have a work permit?  And then after apply for one when I get work or is it the other way around I can only do it that way when I am living outside of Canada?

Thank you very Mucho

That's not good mi amigo, not at all

There is another way for you to come, try through a temporary work permit, I guess you may take a look on CIC web page, you will find it so helpfully.

Check this out...
