My concern is i'm a permanent resident here in canada, and now i'm sponsoring my son who is 5 years who is in the philippines. The embassy already asked for my son's passport and then the passport was sent already the next day (May 25). And now, the next day the passport was sent, my dad in the philippines got another letter asking for a Affidavit of consent from the father of my son and all the details regarding my previous relationship.

And now the problem is, the father of my son was never in the picture ever since i gave birth to my son. And it's even "UNKNOWN" at FATHER's section in the birth certificate of my son. I never had any contact with his father for 5 or 6 years already and never now where he is now. Don't tell me i'm gonna search whole philippines just to ask for a consent for my son!!!

What is the best thing to do now!???

Hope someone can help me with this!!! THANKS

It is either find the father or get permission from a Philippines court giving you sole custody and the right to remove the child from the Philippines.
