Help needed - will I be eligible?

Hey everyone,

My names Sam and I'm 23 and from Britain.

I'd like to move to Vancouver for a year or so and to be able to come home and visit when I need/want to.

I'm a graduate of business studies with marketing and have experience in event co-ordination, online and offline marketing
and Accounting.

A couple of years ago I was arrested for dangerous driving which was dropped and I was sentenced with driving without
due care and attention (I had to pay a fine of around £75 and had three penalty points added to my license).

Will this be a red flag when it comes to wanting to visa applications?

Which Visa should I go for, how much does it cost and how do I apply.

Finally, in terms of employment should I look for a position before or after visa applications and what's the best way to approach this?

If you want to stay for a year, the best visa to apply is this one: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/experience_canada_experience/index.aspx?view=d and make sure you apply soon before they run out of places for this year.  It gives you a 1 year open work permit which means you can work for any or many employers.

Other options are far less flexible.  If you even qualify to apply for PR directly without a job offer, it takes at least a year or two for the PR processing.  If you want to get a regular work permit, you would first need to find an employer and that employer must show that they could not find a qualified Canadian for the job.

I don't know if your driving offense would be in issue.  I don't think so.
