Hi,
I'll be grateful if any one can help me understand the status of my immigration application (At Canada embassy in Beijing, PR China).
While I check on the embassy website it read as below:

Code : 8
Status:Documents received, either from you or from an external source, are under review (已收到你本人或他方递交的材料，正在审阅中. ).
Please note that I have sent Bank draft for the Right of permanent fee and have provided my passport.

Moreover, does the Beijing embassy provide receipt/acknowledgment once they receive passport? Coz its been more than a month that the post was delivered there, but still I did not get any receipt.

Normally Canadian Visa offices do not acknowledge the receipt of passports. However you can send a case specific inqury or an email to VO to find out more

I thought Code : 8 is Medical Forms sent. What is Medical form sent Code number?
Code 6: Awaiting information from external source. Please be patient.
Code 12: File is under review.
Anyway, there is nothing to worry about. Just wait.

I don't know about these codes, but as I have done medicals recently and internet case request also shows Code:8 so it might be the same but I am not sure.
