Hi everyone.
Iam a new member in this forum but I've been following the posts for sometime.I have noticed that most of the members are very helpful and knowledgeable, especially ohcanadiana.I have a question.I applied under the new rules on July 27.Unfortunately my consultant did not know much about the changed rules! My application was returned within a fortnight with a letter enlisting the new rules. The letter also stated that my application is incomplete.I was also sent a visa office document checklist with the documents I need to send highlighted. However, the PCC was not highlighted.I do not know what to make of it.Should I get PCC or not? I do not want my application to be 'incomplete' again. Please guide me!! ( I'm from Pakistan )

Go back read the Visa office specific instructions.  You don't submit the PCCs to CIO Sydney, if your application is accepted, then the Visa Office will request them.

Thank you very much for your replies. But I have read some comments on this forum which say that we need to submit ALL the documents on the visa office checklist. Another question,I am sitting for IELTS on sep.11.The result will be announced on the 24th.I am worried that by then it will be too late to submit. I am a psychologist.Tell me what to do?

Check VO specific checklist ( Late Aug early Sept 2010 version) PCC no more required

As You have IELTS on 11 Sept 2010, have nothing in your control which can expedite the process. My advice to you to focus on the IELTS, also start collecting all (CIO + VO)documents and be ready to apply by 24th Sept 2010 when you get your IELTS marksheet. THe VO specific documents would also take time, may not be in your hand at this moment.

Check the CIC website, if they do not publish the CAP full  - go ahead and apply by 24 Sept 10

2Future,

First of all congrats on taking the first step. Secondly, get rid of that consultant, who is not fimiliar with new rules, and get you money back from him for putting to in hassle.

Now coming to the point. You are going to take IELTS on Sep 11, 2010 and you will get the results back on probably Sep 24-27, 2010 depending on where you live. Even if you use the fastest availabe courier service, it will take at lest 4-5 business days to reach CIO from Pakistan. This will make the receiving date Oct 1-3, 2010.

Don't discourage yourself. So far, CIO got only 7600 application (Inside Info), but try to complete everything before Oct 1, 2010. And I am pretty your that your application will go through.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

And one more thing, PCC is not required at this point, but everything else listed on CIO checklist and Visa Office checklist are required.

Also, I am curious when did you sent your application? when did CIO received it? when did they returned it? when did you got it back?

Thanks a lot pun123 and maani for your input. It is truly appreciated.Maani, thanks for being so encouraging! I sent my application on July 27.It was received on July 29( I know because I tracked it ). I got it back on August 12. The accompanying letter was dated Aug.4(I'd say that is quick work). My IELTS result was also sent back because it was a little more than a year old.I really like your idea of getting rid of the consultant and I am seriously considering it.
