Start your reading at www.cic.gc.ca  sponsorship
Assuming your soul mate, requires a TRV to enter Canada, you are probably going to either have to join her overseas and live together for a year to meet c/law requirements or marry her.  She is also going to have to have permission from the courts or the father to remove the child from his home country.
Once you are either married or common/law you can submit a sponsorship.

Once you are married, you will have to sponsor here. Either by remaining in the Philippines or once you return home.  See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp#asia plus the processing time at Mississauga
of 37 days.  Your wife, will still have to prove sole custody of the child as well as proof that she has never been married to include with her application.  See additional Manila requirements here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E33025.PDF

Talking to immigration canada is a good start, there are many immigration lawers that will give you a list of " to do's" for a small fee.I think with children involved your financial history may be more involved(not sure)
I'm just in the process of planning a marriage in the phillipeans in june,I know she'll need a criminal check, medical and a passport-there may be more involved but I'm learning on the fly.
just double check any documents you may need BEFOR you go-it's a long trip back if you forget something!  good luck.
