Hi,

You have just been answered by Sonir very appropriately on the other thread initiated by you as below:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/micro-finance-bank-as-prof-of-funds-urgent-reply-time-is-running-out-t90918.0.html

1. No need to move the amount to any other account. Later on you will have to show unencumbered funds
2. Take the statement from the Bank with proper Bank seals/signatures (as Suggested by Sonir)

It will be nice if you could turn off the CAPs

You can show either of the account i.e Savings or Fixed where your purpose serves or both accounts. No problem at all. But authenticity is a must.

Ask the Bank to give you a statement of the fixed deposit, fixed deposit is an acceptable proof of fund anytime and you don't need to transfer the money into another savings account. Besides the bank can also give you a covering letter saying the deposit have been with them for the past no of months and that they have your authority to keeping rolling it over and them get the bank to sing and seal the letter and also sign the statement.

You can also do a covering note yourself and let them know that you had to keep the POF in a deposit account to yield interest (if thats the case) rather than keeping it in the normal savings account.

NB I guess next time it makes more sense and looks more credible when you put the money in a commercial bank rather than a MFB. I also hope this answers your question and that you won't have to open another thread for this question, in the meantime the nigeria applicant thread is at your disposal and you can ask and receive answer there without necessarily opening a new thread.

All the best
