ok. MY wife and I ( both irish ) bought a house in Ontario 4 years ago. We still live in Ireland but would like to relocate to ontario. We have checked out the immigration website, but find it very confusing. I am a qualified plumber and my wife works in financial customer service. I am 49 and she is 47.
                1. Which category would be best for us to apply under.
                2. Does owning a house there give us any advantage.
                3. How long does a skilled worker application take.

You can apply as a skilled worker since plumbers are on the most wanted list.  Since there are new rules now, nobody knows how long it will take anymore but they are aiming at 6-12 months although I am sure it will be more like 12 to 18 to start with.  I don't think owning a house matters either way.  Have you checked about licensing requirements and job opportunities in ON?
