I landed in Vancouver 2 weeks ago. But I have a problem with finding an apartment, it is too expensive, who has such an experience, please share and help me with this...

How much can you afford?  Actually, you can google rental listings in various website before you land.  You may check your neighbouring housing co-ops for availability and assistance.

Vancouver is VERY expensive, as a lot of people on this forum keep mentioning, including me. Cheesy

However, the surrounding districts are cheaper, so start looking in Surrey, Abbotsford, Richmond etc.

The cheapest accommodation I could find in Vancouver it's self, was in East Vancouver. They wanted 700 a month for a bachelor apartment, one months rent in advance and one months rent as security. This was on Craigslist.

I'd second what angelbrat recommended and throw Burnaby, Coquitlam and Port Moody into the mix for excellent areas that you might be able to find more affordable accommodation in.
