Hello everyone,

Recently, my husband who is from Venezuela and myself living in Toronto just got married in Hong Kong ... and we hired a lawyer to do our sponsorship application.... however, i am still so worried about the waiting time.... and now, i hear a news on TV about they will prolong the finalized time.. So my question is I wonder the cic government website show the statstics about the finalizing time is 30% in 8 months and most likely 80% in 13 months...

But it all means the cases got approval or refused with that time period??? I am confused....
It is so frustated of not seeing my husband for so long....coz of work , cannot take a long vacation.....
by the way, we sent our application in September 19 , 2010 ... so when we approximately will get our first letter??? it feels like forever... urgh...

Thanks for your reply.... If anyone of you files your case in Caracas please contact me.. I would like to hear your story as well.... but also want to others members who file their story in other countries.... God bless all of you who is undergoing the same process....

Only love can do everything....

Hi chloe

The application processing times listed on the CIC website show the average length of time to finalize applications -- in other words, the number of months that were needed to either approve or refuse applications.

You should get your sponsorship approval letter in approximately 4-6 weeks and then the application will be sent to Caracas for processing. The application  processing time begins from the time that the visa office gets the application.

If you want to look at individual time lines for Caracas, you can go to: trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/family-class  From the drop down menus, select Caracas as your visa office and "spouses & partners" under family program. Best of luck!

Your husband can apply for a tourist visa. Whether he is accepted or refused for the tourist visa will have no impact on the permanent resident sponsorship application.

Are you sure you have selected a good lawyer who knows what he/she is doing? It sounds like he/she told you that a tourist visa refusal would negatively impact the PR application. This information is incorrect.

Hi there,

My husband's applying through Caracas as well.  We started the process in May 2010 and we are now in final stages...they are doing background checks.  They called us Sept. 20 to ask for a copy of a document and told us that in 1-2 months visa would be ready.  Our case is pretty straight forward so I can't speak to yours.  You can try to apply for visitor visa and no it won't affect your file however they usually turn them down.  There's concern that the applicant will not return.  But it is worth a try.

Hope this helps

If the tourist visa is declined, and you apply for PR, state that he was trying to come visit you... attempts to get into the country can be looked at in different ways and it's best not to let CiC decide how to view yours

Hi chloe0722,

I am in the same situation as you. I am at Venezuela, my husband in Canada, and I am waiting to get my visa from the Caracas VO. we sent our application in March , 2011 and I would like to know if you have any suggestion in the process because it is really frustrating this VO because it takes too long to process the application, besides they do not answer back any email. What should I do? Did your husband apply for the turit visa? Did he get it? Do you thinkg We can do the same?

Hello,

We got to redo the medical check up. Hopefully is a good sign for both of us .. at least, they are working on it.
Truly, i can not compare others, but Caracas Visa Office is absolutely close their door and work on their own job.
my husband and I have been waiting for almost 10 months with no news! until few days ago.

we both are waiting with patience and love ~~~ Bring hope ~!! stay positive !! everything will be fine  Wink

Thatīs great!! at least is a good sign to know that they are working on you guys. Hopefully you and your husband will be together this year Smiley

Have you tried go directly to the visa office and ask about your file before? Because I am considering to do it, I am really impatient, I know that is not good for my husband and I , but I just wish to have some news from our appl.

I like your word at the end.. Bring hope, everything will be fine!!

Hi

no, I have not got the redo medical check up.. I plied in march 2011, and got File transfer in May, but the thing is that I have not got my file # or AOR yet, that is why I asked you if you think is ok, for me to go the Visa Office and ask them directly about it? and what other forums from Caracas Vo do you visit?
