first thanx for having this type of site on the web its very help for many pll. i got a question myself,i'm trying to hire a live-in caregiver from guatemala.but i got a concern about her bieng approved due to economic background.will my prospect caregiver have to show financial funds to be let into canada?thank you for time and opinion....oscar

actually the foreign worker doesnt have to do that but you are. you have to prove that you have the capacity and ability to support your caregiver, like can you accomodate your caregiver? can you give her the appropriate wages and benefits that service canada is requiring the employers to give?. if your answers are all yes, then i dont see any problem, you just have to place an ad in the job bank, known jobsites and/or newspapers as what service canada is requiring to give you a positive LMO. by the way, i think the least she has to prove is that she got at least 72 units of equivalent education. Cheesy

Yes, on her side she may have to show how much money she has in the bank ( bank statements) or proof of property ownership. They are looking for ties that would make her want to return to her home country after her job here.

i dont think you need it darya my cousin was hired by sister as her caregiver and she didnt need those things in her application now shes just waiting for her visa... i think youre referring to visitor visa and not LCP? Cheesy

Maybe it depends on  which embassy she is applying from?, but both times, my caregivers under the LCP had to show it too.
