I will be landing from the US as a permanent resident of Canada. Because I am coming from outside Canada to Alberta, I understand I am eligible right away for healthcare. Does the application have to be processed and approved first before I am covered, or can I go to the doctor the very day I land? Am I not eligible til I receive my health card(which could be many weeks).
