Hello all

I am curious on Healthcare. My Wife is being sponsored as PR however since the process takes so long we managed to push through a work visa in the meantime so she can arrive this month even though i have not yet been approved as the sponsor let alone her being approved to come.

So the good news is she is here for Christmas but now i am thinking.... what does she do for healthcare? She will be working full time for a Canadian Employer and i would expect paying taxes so is she eligible for a healthcare card just like if she was a PR?

I don't know which province you will be living in but I do know in Manitoba the work permit needs to be valid for at least one year in order to be provided with a Manitoba provincial health number. If you contact your provincial health authority they will assist you.
