A new immigrant does not have health insurance for the first 90 days in BC.

Could someone please point to an economic private health insurance.

Thanks

Blue cross and Blue shield [they are in Burnaby, not too far from BCIT [the college], OR there is Manulife financial - canada-wide, www.coverme.com - they have excellent health insurance plans, as well as affordable extended health for canadians who dont get that through their work. It's typically grouped under 'Travel Insurance' - visitors to Canada [until your provincial health care will kick in - 3 months usually] and then as I said, if you wanted continued coverage both of these companies have medical (including vision and prescription) and dental benefits to cover individuals who may not have extended benefits through their work, as well as some other options.

All-in-all, any package presented to you will probably be a Traveller's insurance package - visitor to Canada.

Good Luck
