Hello, my wife will be waiting for her permanent residency status while in Canada.  She will be entering as a visitor, however, I did get a letter from Immigration Canada saying that I'm allowed to sponsor her and her PR visa is in process.  Is it possible for her to be eligible for provincial health care?  As I understand only PR and Canadian Citizens are only eligible for provincial health care.  If not, what kinds of health insurance are available in her situation?  Thanks a lot.

How is it that your wife can be here in Canada while waiting for her permanent residency status?  Has she already BEEN granted a visitor visa for the duration of the wait or are you assuming this will be given?
I have been waiting for a year for my husband's PR status and had been given the impression he can not enter Canada and wait here, he would likely be denied a visitor's visa.
