Hi, I have a W1 work visa for Canada but through the international experience Canada and did not require any HRSDC approval. Can I claim points towards PR through it? How do I work towards my PR from here.

I also got a letter saying to show it to the immigration officer at the airport who will help in the issuing of a workpermit. How long does it take for the workpermit to be issued?

help is much appreciated upfront.

You can claim points depending upon the work you do while in Canada.  There are too many variables to make accurate comments how you work towards PR from here.  Depends on what province you reside in, the type of job you find, whether or not your employer wants to hire you on a permanent basis, etc., etc.

The work permit will be issued at the Port of Entry.  So if you are arriving in Canada by air, it will be issued by CBSA at the airport.
