Has anyone used Facebook for evidence of your relationship on your application?

Since my common law partner and I live together we never communicated much through email.  And since there is no way to print out and forward our text messages, our Facebook walls are where we communicated the most in writing.

Would a printout of our Facebook interactions be good evidence? Has anyone done this before?

Yes, people do it all the time. I know I sent loads of evidences from facebook. Also, from my research on this forum prior to sending our application, I came across a discussion thread (sorry Im unable to locate it now) where these people had hired a lawyer. The lawyer himself had suggested that they use facebook evidences. So I think facebook is really a strong evidence. More importantly, its a clear indication that your family and friends are aware of your relationship. Hope this helps

In my opinion it would be a good evidence as both you and your partner are showing your relationship to other friends. It would be considered a strong social proof of relationship. I have personally sent out Facebook picture comments/chat/wall posts as proof.

I also used the print screen feature to capture all our pictures together.
This shows the facebook date stamps all the pictures so that it further proves a timeline.

And also shows your comments are public, especially when family and friends are replying or liking the pics of you two together

Yes, my partner and I often left little facebook messages for each other, so we included a selection of those, as well as the "show friendship" page between us. I agree that it is good evidence of being a genuine couple as you are out there for all your friends and family to see. And there is no harm in including it!

Any evidence you can provide, provide it! There's no such thing as too much proof when it comes to immigration.

We are using facebook info. Seems appropriate seeing as that is how we first met. Althought all other supporting information is included and the facebook print of our friendship history is really intended as more of a backup and to re affair what we have already stated.

For example we have pictures of our trips taken together. Then the facebook prints will also confirm dates and that our friends have known of our relationship from the start.

We're using facebook as well for proof of our relationship. There are lots of posts on there of our family and friends commenting on our statuses and such. Plus almost all our pictures are captioned and have dates on them.

My hubby is on facebook only in name, he never posts or anything, but his family and friends, and my family and friends, are all mutual friends, so I took a screenshot of the page that shows all our mutual friends, and printed that up.

Facebook is evidence but not a good one. If you live together, you are much better off if you bring up evidence such as joint bank account, bills with both of your names on it, joint insurance, travel tickets (e.g. flight ticket) with name on it, etc.
even affidavits/formal letters from friends (or neutral people such as a pastor) that state that these people know you for some time and know that you're a couple are much stronger than facebook...

I would agree with all of this... Use Facebook; in my case we have lived together for 6 years so not a lot of email or phone contact necessary in that situation, but we have lots of other evidence of our life together, joint bank accounts, credit cards, travel and contents insurance, utility bills. The Facebook evidence was really just to show that we are in an amicable relationship and provide evidence of us with friends and family, etc. FB will be extra back up, just don't rely entirely on it if at all possible.

We got married in the UK. My wifes visit for marriage visa was refused initially by the UK border agency as we didn't provide enough evidence of a genuine marriage. The second application probably overwhelmed them with everything we sent including around 10 letters from family / friends / Canadian & English who knew of our relationship. Also one from my employer who invited her to the works christmas party all in support of our relationship. So even though these are dated July and to the UK Border agency we are including them as evidence of support.

I just feel like it would help because we've lived in our apartment for about a year and a half, but we took care of the bills separately.  Electricity is in my name, Internet is in his, Netflix is in mine... We had a joint account but we dissolved it when he switched banks back in April.  We're going to reopen one this weekend, but we're also applying next week so I'm not sure our bank will make a difference.
