Hi! You can file for a Divorce since u are already there in Canada for awhile. File for an Uncontested divorce, its easier will take u 6 months without any appearance and all. Thats what i did before even if i was on TRV. Then u and ur partner can get married then file for ur application for PR.
Goodluck!
Do I need a lawyer for the uncontested divorce? thanks..

Hello there! mine was also uncontested at sabi ko nga i got my divorce cert last month...no need the appearance, mind you super dali lang. punta ka sa family law centre sa kung anumang city ka,then ask for help from the people in LINC,sila mismo ang gumawa ng lahat ng papel ko.

nope naiwan sila sa ex kong baliw.. Yung youngest ko which is only 3 years old was with me dito sa manila isasama ko sana kaya lang ayaw pirmahan ng ex ko yung papers. so ang gagagawin ko na lang kunin ko sila after 2 years. Grabe since december 27 pa passport ko sa CEM till now walang balita. At least ang gawin mo i-ready mo nalang sarili mo in the future at mag ipon I totally understand your situation. May anak din akong isa na di ko makuha. Pero nag let go ako at nag focus nalang na ayusin ang life ko. Ok lang yan Sis, may mga baggy na di nation control. Naku pray pray na talaga tayo na sana di na magtagal ang DM natin. Be happy friend malalagpasan mo yan. Hayaan mo sa tatay yung mga bata. Ok lang yan

Hi emrn,---- everyone-----
Im wondering to know kung na approve ka na?. I will soon sponsor my husband pero d ko alam kung tama ba submit sa pinas ang papeles or sa Abu dhabi dahil nasa mideast sya nag ttrabaho. Problem sa ABdhabi 25months processing.. problem naman sa pinas i was married once and nadivorce dito sa Canada (legally) pero ayaw mag cooperate nung ex ko to file annulment sa pinas.. im worried baka madeny sa pinas dahil d kami legally annulled dun. Although my husband and I were married legally sa Thailand at like what i said im legally divorced here sa Canada....
Help naman kung sino may same case.. please

You don`t need your husband`s cooperation for you to file an annulment, all you need is money, a good lawyer and a lot of patience, kasi masyadong matagal ang annulment at mahal. Are you both Filipino citizen, ikaw at ang second husband mo? Ang pagkakaintindi ko kasi kahit legally divorced ka sa Canada you`re still legally married in the Philippines. It means you cannot get married again unless you had your marriage annulled or your divorce in Canada have it recognized aat the regional trial court(you need the service of aa Filipino lawyer. My advice, please ask for guidance from a Family lawyer in the Philippines. As i see it your second marriage is void. I hope i`m wrong, i don`t want to be the bearer of bad news but before sending your application please consult a lawyer.

Canadian na po ako nung madivorce sa ex husband, my lawyer here is filipino too. Sabi niya my divorce here in Canada is valid and legal, nagpakasal po kami ng 2nc husband ko sa labas ng pinas so that by Canadian law its legal. Do you think i hohonor ng Canadian Immigration sa Pinas un or they'll go by Philippine law? Salamat po sa reply

hi im in dire need of advise, please no hateful replies.
im already a PR here in Canada, but before i got my PR i had a boyfriend who is a tourist also from the Philippines and we had a son, but to make things complicated i was married then, my boyfriend who is also married in the Philippines left me, so to make things right i told my husband what happened and accepted my mistakes and i was able to sponsor my husband and my elder son into Canada, but after more than a year of struggling with our relationship we ended up in divorce, we have been divorced now for more than a year, on the other hand, i was able to reconnect with the father of my youngest son, this time he is already separated with his wife.
i am thinking of applying him as my conjugal partner, and in doing so, would it affect our status as PRs? i need your advise please, God Bless!

Conjugal is a difficult road to take because unless you get a very lenient visa officer, you must prove that you have been in a marriage like relationship for 1 year or more and that immigration barriers or law of the land is preventing you from living together to qualify as a common law. Have you been in a marriage like relationship with this man for more than 12 months? Do you support him or he supports you financially? Do you have joint bank accounts, joint property, insurance policies naming each other as beneficiaries and wills naming each other as heirs? Could you marry him if you wanted to but choose not to? Could you live with him if you wanted to but choose not to? Are you ready to take financial responsibility for him for 3 years after he comes to Canada? Those are questions you need to know the answer to as well. As for your PR being safe, if you tell the whole story about the affair and your husband forgiving you etc., they may believe that you were already separated from your husband when you sponsored him to Canada which means he got his PR based on misrepresentation and could lose it. Did you actually sponsor him after you got your PR or did you include him on your own PR application as your dependent? If you got your PR first and then sponsored him, you can not sponsor a new partner until your husband has been a PR for 3 years.
