I'm just curious if anyone has applied to be the sponsor of your spouse who was previously on welfare. Did you have any problems with this? and is there a time period you have to be off welfare in order to be eligible? or as long as your off it and have a job, are you okay?

Thank you for your help!

I was in a rough patch and relied on welfare for 4 months until I was able to find a job again.   I got off of it in March of 2010 , and they offered to continue giving me the free extended health benefits for a year - but I asked to be waived from that as I wanted to be off their system completely.
They sent me a letter in the mail stating that at my request they have withdrawn my benefits.  I included that letter, along with 3 paychecks and a letter from my employer showing my salary, and a little note letting them know why I was on welfare for that bit of time.
It had no impact on me being approved for sponsoring my spouse, I got approved last month!

That's good to know, My wife was on it for a bit last year but she now has a job.
Did you send the option C printout with your application? or did you send a letter saying why you couldn't? and if you did what did you put in the letter if you don't mind me asking.
