My timeline:

Applied on 7/12/2010
Receipt of application: 10/22/2010

I am wondering why folks who mailed applications in 05/2009 and 07/2009 received the receipts after more than one year? I got it after 3.5 months... at the same day they got it. On the other hand Jennysec (see just 5 posts below) mailed application on 09/2009 and received alreday nomination on 08/2010. Why such a huge difference? Please advice.
My H1B is valid only one more year. Does it mean that with current processing time of "at least 24 months" I do not have a chance to get my nomination before my visa expire?

Thanks for help.

Cheers!

Hi there! You're very fortunate that you got your response on same year within 3 and a half months.. I am still waiting for my file number.. I submitted my application March 2010 uand still waiting.. keeping my fingers crossed! ;-)

Thanks God. Ultimately  I got the file number after waiting of 6 month
NOC 2141
Mail application 15th March 2010
Received app    16th March 2010 by Acc. to UPS Tracking
Received File #  22nd October 2010

I noticed who ever applied (most of all) after March 2010 they received file number at the same date like 10/22/2010 isn't it?
What the logic behind this are they want to catch up now.

Good News
At least some activity in the issue of Nomination. Let us see how many Passport Requests are issued and whether there is a correlation between them.

Hi everyone,

I'm joining the discussion so that I can participate in sharing the progress of our application. I sent my application  to AINP in June of this year, and I received my AOR file # in an email last month.

Application Received: June 22, 2010
AOR file #: October 28, 2010
NOC Code: 3131

Do you mean if you have sent the documents to CIC buffalo..as i believe AOR is given out by CIC. Please clarify.

Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) is issued by the Canadian Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program to indicate the date they received your application and to provide you(applicant) the number assigned to your file. So that's where I'm right now.

Im also under NOC 3131, received my file number on oct 22, 2010. It rare to see applicants under 3131. Hopefully it is to our advantage that there is less applicants under our category.

By the way the term AOR is commonly used by CIC. If its from alberta immigration it is just file number. Just to prevent confusion Cheesy

Yep, I have noticed the rare occurrence, and somehow I have been comforting myself, thinking that the processing time for nomination won't take the 24 months estimated on the AINP website.

Knowing how rare our NOC 3131 seems, we should keep each other up to date of any further update to our files.

Did you also apply for federal skilled? 3131 is qualified under federal skilled worker. I am planning to apply just in case alberta pnp will take a long time.

No, I didn't. Well if there is no nomination by August next year, I will apply through the federal skill program.

Hi all,
Many of you will soon file application for CIC and will want to track your application. As a guy who's going thru this process I found it very useful to follow other cases in the past. We had a couple of heroes maintain a spreadsheet for us and now that many of us are getting into final stages we need other folks to step in and manage the spreadsheet.  https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AtPHGKB4Sw0tdEREWjcwT214Mmstd004TkZFNmxOZkE&hl=en&gid=21

If you have the interest and can spare some time to analyze posts and update the spreadsheet, please volunteer. It will be good to have 2 or three folks coordinate and manage this.

Thanks and all the best!
