Thanks for sharing ss123.

I e-mailed them asking if I should wait to get application packet and invitation letter or go ahead and apply in January.

Will post their reply as soon as they respond! But we will need to wait, it seems!

Happy New Year everyone I hope I will get to land in Canada by the end of 2009 ...

We applied for AINP through a lawyer, and we were notified that Steps 1 and 2 were already submitted on August 8, 2008. I know my employer's file number, but not my own employee file number. I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

For all of you who are in the pre-assessment stage of AINP process and wondering about the next step:

I e-mailed AINP office yesterday with the question about the change in the application process and how it affects all of us who got into the pre-assessment step and are waiting. I got an immediate reply that if we are already in the pre-assessment process, we should continue to wait to receive decision and instructions on how to proceed.

For everyone who would be new to the process, as of January 1, 2009 pre-assessment step has been removed.

I am thrilled I got such a fast reply and I am hoping I will get the application packet soon.

Hi Felix31,

You and I are in same boat. I applied for pre-assessment in Dec 1st week and have not received any documents yet from AINP. I've called them twice and they asked me to wait until I hear back and suggested not to submit the docs directly. The process is starting to test the patience now....

Pls post into the forum if you receive anything....keeps other's hopes alive Wink
I'll do the same.
Regards

Hi differentquestion,
I feel slightly better now! Thought I am the only one who's waiting for pre-assessment.

But, what do you mean, "it is better not to send docs directly"?

I e-mailed all my pre-assessment docs on Dec 3rd, got confirmation Dec 4. I did include paystub !! But I did not attach my current employers' H1B letters. They did 3 extensions for me in the past 4 years, different job titles, but same duties....

And I also explained in detail all previous H1b positions in the past 9 years...
If in doubt, they will hopefully ask for more docs and not flat out reject me...

Anyways, I'll keep you posted..

Hi Felix31,

But, what do you mean, "it is better not to send docs directly"?
I meant that since we applied for pre-assessment, we'll have to wait until we receive invitation package from AINP. We can NOT send the next stage documents (which other fresh starters can) since we applied for pre-assessment and got an email from AINP.

So I'm waiting to receive invitation package from AINP.

Don't worry they won't let fresh starters leap-frog you. I am sure they won't process the new format applicants before completing all the back logs of 2008.

I wonder how they can differentiate cases following old and new process when they submitted their applications. Seems unfair for cases submitted last year which will definitely be delayed i processing.
