Is there any number we can call them. I got one number from their website but its not connecting to any representative or support persons. the automated machine is fed like if we call number X at the end they say to talk directly call Y if I call Y then it says to call X.

Is there any one who contacted Chicago consulate directly.

if you live near chicago... then its best go and try getting it. as per my knowlege, PCC is valid for one year from the date you apply before they issue it.. but once they issue it , then its only valid for 3 months...

so suppose you applied in March 2009, then this PCC is valid till March 2010, before this you need to collect it. and the date you collect it it will be only valid for 3 months.

Just confirm it before going to them if you live far from consolate.

Congratulations, albertatj!

State PCCs are not required when you send your application to Buffalo (CIC may ask later in the process). But you can send them with your application if you want to.

FBI clearance is one of the requirements. I heard we can send our application without FBI clearance and send FBI clearance to Buffalo later, but it is recommended to send it with your application (This may save some time later in the process). You will find all the info you need in the following websites:

- Do I need to take FBI for all members including minor child? (5 year old) ?
- Is PCC not required if I am applying to buffalo?
- DO I need to get PCC from Indian embassy?

You and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over need to obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

And we definitely can start without State PCCs, but I'm not sure how application without FBI clerance will be processed. I know some cases (from this forum) application was sent without FBI clearance, but those cases are from late 2008 or early 2009 and I don't know any recent case. What I'm worried is that immigration officers at CIC may put my file aside if FBI clearance is not included and I'll never know when they will touch my file again even if I send FBI clearance to CIC as soon as I can. That is why I'm waiting for my FBI clearance now (anyway we have 6 months to send our application to Buffalo after nomination).

I think the only applicant who has gotten rejected so far w/o H1B is Babuganesh2000, but per AINP the receipt date of his application was March(after Feb 19th) eventhough he had sent his application in Jan. Other than him I haven't heard of any rejections
