Dear Friends,
My self sam, before few days' back I got nomination under AINP process.
I am unmarried. But I am planning to marry soon after getting visa. So is it possible that I can apply for my spouse before entering in to Canada so that we can enter together in Canada? Is there any fastest way? How long it will take ?
Please suggest if there is any solution.

Hi, Guys:

I heard a news a while ago that canada will give more quota to province nominee while decrease the amount of federal applcations. Thus I think APNP actually will give more nomination next year than this year. I think they basically will give nominaiton to all qualified applicants. Now the only important thing that we need to do is to hold the H1B visa as long as possible. Also I think next year the program will move faster than 2009. Just my expectation and hope this encourage all of us.

Here is my Time line

NOC Code - 2171
Application Sent: Feb 15 2009
Application received : Aug 06 2009
File # : 24XX
File # Received : Aug 06 2009
Docment Request Date : N/A
Nomination Date is :  N/A
Nomination Received: N/A

I am a bit puzzled as to why I received my File# in August when I sent my application in Feb 2009. Also, it says application received on Aug 6, 2009.

Is there a phone number that has worked for anyone to check the status?

Hi morpheous, congrats! if you don't mind me asking, what is your file number? mine is in the 14xx, I also have a noc code of 2281, and according to my lawyers my application reached alberta on 3/21 and I got the file number in June.  I have not gotten any requests for documents, maybe the 2281 line is slower?

Thx

I too received the big brown envelope from Alberta Government yesterday. Here is my time line:

AINP application: January 15th, 2009 [ New Process]
File Number received: March 21st, 2009
Document requested : November 24th, 2009
Document sent back to Alberta : November 25th, 2009
Nomination received : December 7th, 2009
NOC Code: 2281 - Computer and Network Operators/Technician [ I am a Systems Administrator in US]
Validity of Nomination : Till May 25th, 2010

H1-B Status : Still in Valid H1-B visa until April 2010.

Now on to the CIC processing.....Good luck to all who are still waiting for their nominations.

Hello Friends,

I have received my nomination yesterday. My question is we are expecting our child in a month. What would you guyz recommend? How would advise to proceed with my CIC application? Wait untill the baby is born before starting the CIC process? Or start the process and I can later add my baby?
I am not sure how it works, but Would appreciate your thoughts?

Thanks

My file number is in the 10XX. I sent my application on January 15th, 2009 and it reached Alberta on January 21st,2009. Like I mentioned before, I received my file number on March 21st, and in the email it indicated that my file was created and entered on their system on March 4th.

Hang in there, I strongly believe that your processing is in the works and you should hear something from Alberta soon. Are you still in H1-B status in the U.S? From what I have seen so far, the 2281 NOC code does not have as many applicants as the 2171 ones, so you never know, it could actually play in your favor by them not having many applications for your NOC.

Keep the faith, and the nomination shall come.

Streetsmart123:
I think you should wait until the baby is born, process his/her birth certificate and passports and inform Alberta of this configuration change in your family. The nominations are valid for 6 months, so that gives you flexibility of dealing with these issues before the deadline. I am sure once you update Alberta with the new born information, they will give you information on how to proceed.

We also had a baby, luckily few months before the request for documents from Alberta. I obtained his birth certificate and passport and updated AINP with them, when the nomination came, they did include the new born in it. I think for your case, AINP needs to be updated, and they will update CIC about changes to your nomination, and when you send your application to CIC, the paper work should include documents ( birth certificate & passport copies) for you new born as well.

I stand to be corrected.

Yup you can continue and don't loose your position as you are almost there.

Dear All,

I am in a peculiar situation.

Right now I am in India on a vacation. I got a request for visa/approval notice & most recent paystub on 25th of Nov which I duly forwarded. Unfortunately I was informed by my employer yesterday that my project has ended abruptly due to budget cuts and asked me to stay back. I have a valid H1-B till 2010. Can I continue with the process in case I am nominated?

please advise.
