Pretty sick process isnt it?
The letter could have "walked" all the way to my home in PA if it were let go on its own! Wonder whether it was the AINP office the reason for delay or was it the canadian postal service efficiency at works here?

Folks,

I applied in early January 2009 and got an email in first week of march to submit a job description letter from my employer although I have submitted in the beginning. I submitted new job description letter and  was waiting for the file number.

Yesterday I sent them an email :why they are delaying to issue a number? In return I got the file number 117X: The email says it was sent on march 6th, but I never received it earlier........

The email says:
The file number was emailed to you on March 06, 2009.

Same thing happened to me also. My appln reached AB on 1/28/09 and I did not get the file number. I emailed to them on 5/8/09 and got the file number. The email also said it was sent on March 5th and actually I did not receive anything earlier. So I wonder why this confusion.Also looking at you file number it looks it was generated only after you asked - I think you are the first person on 117x series.
