Nomad,

Although I am personally not affected and could care less (am a Mech Engr by trade), I agree to your assessments on the "desi sweatshops" and road-side consulting firms abusing immigartion systems in US. But I still beleive that AINP is not the only option. Lets face it, there is no "substitute" to USA for smart professionals with advanced degress, right skillsets and attitude. I have had folks in my family (educated in canada with PHDs and have lived for 12 yrs!) running south of the border in a heartbeat!

There are quite a few of us here who are non IT and those thankfully not affected by the economic downturn and a more serious question in this forum is "how many of you here would really settle down in Alberta if USCIS changes their processing times on GC dramatically?".. I am sure I wont be surprised with the outcome at all..

Voluntary Disclosure: My company has facilities in Alberta and are ready to transfer me there if need be,  but am still seriously considering going back to my home country in 2 yrs.

-6Sigma

Sad but true, AINP no longer looks like a lucrative option. Sad

AINP seemed to be the "only" option for someone like me who has no relatives in Canada, no job offer in Canada, and occupation not included in the FSW list. How many of you would have honestly considered AINP, had the US economy not tanked, CIS was not clamping down on desi sweatshops, and everybody was still getting their EB2's on their cough cough "embellished" experiences? Count your blessings that the AINP option is still available, especially in this economy. If anybody gets laid off in the meanwhile - too bad, but it's not Alberta's fault.

I understand the frustration. All I can say is be patient, keep the faith, and play the hand you've been dealt.

Dear,

Definitely it is right that US is more powerful and prosperous than Canada, especially considering the science and technology, the military, and the industry. However, remember not all the persons are living in US. Do you think her highest queen would like to immigrate to US as a worker? Coming to US is not all.

At present time, do not still wish that US would like to speed up the backlog and release the rope around your neck. Do you still think it is worthy of your life waiting for a green piece of card made of some paper and some plastic?

When a person is getting older and older, he has to find a place to make his own business,  provide his spouse with a shelf, raise his own children, and return the love from his parents debited to him long time ago.

Are you still so young and still floating around in the sea like a leaf? It is time for a sprout to thrust its roots into the land and grow into a big tree, or it may miss the season and die in the winter. It is time for you to reward.

Congrats Tan!

I just received my nomination letter.
Appln Recd   File # File # recd   Pre?   Who                 Nomn recd
01/14/08   653   02/11/09   Y   tan                 Recd Nom on May 4, 2009 letter dated March 26,2009

I emailed AINP my pre Assesment back in 11/11/08

despoimmigrant and 6sigmaMBB,

Can you guys please confirm with me the date noted on on your nomination letter and the certificate expiry date?
I am wondering why it takes them 1 month to send my letter? The letter was dated March 26, 2009 but the mail is postmarked April 26, 2009. I am not trying to be picky, I am just worried because getting PCC from my Home Country might take quite a while. Is there an option of filling to Buffalo without the Home Country PCC? I can process TX and FBI PCC, however Home Country PCC might be chalengging since one source told me that I have to come in person to my Hometown.

Thanks,

Tan

Sorted by File #  recd date...  Folks, please see the pattern for file # recd date.    File #s were given to pre-assessment folks ahead of new process cases (at least to the level possible). And certificates appear to be coming in that order too.

I agree. Life is much more than worrying about living and working in USA.

I agree with Indium..

i cannot bear it anymore with these consulting companies, sucking out percentages of our daily rate... while we wait to get a green card .....some day....maybe 7 - 8 years from now.... no ways.... i would rather wait 8 months for an AINP... and six more months with CIC and get the hell out of here.... glorified bonded labour...

I remember not many people used to like to go to canada a few years back because of weather and number of jobs, but now things have changed dramatically.People are willing to wait for close to  2 yrs to get pr of canada.

I myself started it in nov 08 almost 6 months for me already and still waiting to get nomination certificate.

Dear governor,
So you are sure that I will get the nomination certificate very soon? I am getting all documents ready. Once I received it I will submit it to CIC, so that I do not need to renew my contract.
my file number was rounded to 84x and the real one is x836.
Best

Yes sir definitely you are getting very soon. I am not confirmed as of now that these two nominations include you or not. But you are getting. Your Home PCC even after issuance will good till 3 months so you don't have to worry about these things. What contract? Is your H1B expring?

Thanks a lot. My H1b contract will expire this October, I can renew it if I want. However, after so long time of hard working, I am considering of a several- month vocation and make a plan for the future.
Best Regards

Well after Nomination you have to pass the CIC process at Buffalo untill you want to go to Home Country. So It will be good to extend H1B while CIC process is going on.
