I guess AINP will start issuing nominations now that the Canadian immigration minister has confirmed that Canada will maintain the intake of 250000 to 265000 immigrants in 2009 expecially for the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Maybe Albertagoverner can shed light on this as he knows people working in the immigration offices both at the provincial as well as federal level

Yes, I'm waiting.

Like yofeihong posts above, the email with file number was recd by me in March, but it mentions "receipt of AINP application in February". What does the Feb date represent? Is that the date pre-assessment was completed and candidate assessment starts?

Thanks a lot for all your support... I definitely need it in this bad economy -- not knowing when I'll lose my job!!! Sad I had applied under the new process (no pre-assesment), sent the file on Jan 15th and it reached there on Jan 16th. I am a little worried as people who have applied after me have got a file number, but I wonder if they are in 2171 code. Keeping fingers crossed... Hope to get nomination letter soon!

Last Thursday I wrote AINP an email, summary of which is: it was suppose to take 40 - 60 days to get a final decision but its way past that, any information will be helpful. So today I got an email mentioning that high volume of applications has changed the timeline and my file is 4th in the queue... they will contact me directly if anything else is needed and I should contact them again if I don't receive anything from them by June 1st..... I thought I'd let you know about this as this suggests, they are working on our files....

Nobody can tell exactly as I said that sometime 3 program officers are together on US Visa stream and sometime only 1 and rest 2 are on employer driven and family stream. But current buckets are full of December and early January folks' files. Estimatedly you should be hearing this month.

AlbetraGov: so, this means all January people will not be done before June at least...God help the following months..by the end of next month waiting times will be one year...things are turning out to be really bad now..they really need to impose $100 fee and hire couple of more people..laid off people like me are really in a limbo....more will follow.

I had called the AINP office again today. Today I was told that the file numbers received on 19th March should expect the nomination sometime in July/August. Due to high processing volumes they are taking longer.

I also asked them if there is any selection based on the NOC codes and I was told they are not cherry picking applications by NOC. If the NOC is still on the list then there should not be a problem and should be considered.

So I guess people who got file numbers in March should plan on applying for PCC's end of June. I will have to do it all over again!!!!

They might be. This has become a game of random sampling even files in bucket are in library style according to date but any week in this month while all 3 program officers will be working together, a significant number of January senders will be finalized and then dispatching process is seperate. I said random sampling because sometimes they get bucket which has first file which has file recieved on January 7 like despo's and sometimes the bucket has first file recieved on December 27th. All 25-30 files in one bucket has sequence on basis of reciept date BUT there is no sequence between one bucket and next bucket, Therefore anytime officer may start working on bucket which starts from file recieved on January 5th and anytime other officer may start working bucket which has first file recieved on Dec 19th/ despite of all these things these folks will be on disposal very soon:
