Received File Reference Number:
Application Reached on: Feb 18, 2009
File Reference # received on: May 28, 2009 [Although they claim they had already emailed me the file reference # on March 20, 2009 - Yes March Smiley]
File Reference #: XX-1401

Caution: I hope it is just me, but the file number notification email was in my Spam folder of my Yahoo email. Obviosuly I had not tagged the sender's email address as Spam but I am glad I checked my Spam Folder.

Hi Folks,

My application for AINP reached their office on May 12th 2009.
Any idea as to how much time it should take for me to receive the file number...??
I checked their site and it mentions that it may take up to 4 months for notification, does it always takes the whole of 4 months to receive the file number??

shvr007: I would appreciate if you can please let me know the exact email address and the exact subject for the mail that you receive from AINP stating the file number. I will add a filter now itself to avoid it being sent to spam.

Regards
Amogh

it could take 3-4 months. Count it as 4 months to be on safe side.

Best thing is to send USCIS H1 letter if it matches well with NOC descriptions.

Hi Guys,

I would like to get more information about police clearance certificate(PCC).
If you go to following link then it will give information about how to obtain the PCC. But, my confusion is : for AINP do we need PCC from FBI as well as from Indian Passport office? or either one of this will work?

You need PCC from Indian Passport Office/Consulate, FBI and each state in US where you have lived.

Thanks canadiens

I would also like to know about the processing time for PCC from each offices.

As far as I know Passport office will take around 6 weeks
FBI will take around 16-18 weeks
                       State Office------No idea

Is this information correct?

Should we request PCC from this offices or wait for AINP to send the nomination first and then proceed for PCC?

Start applying for PCC 3 months from the date you received your file number

then you will have your PCC ready along with your nomination certificate

Thanks canadiens

As far as I know FBI takes 3 to 4 weeks. The timeframe for different state varies and the timeframe for PCC from home country varies from country to country
