first congratulate to divagirl, I just wonder how could your file number is lower than Engg's? He has pre-assessement and you just filed under the new system?
I guess it was generated long back and not sent to me earlier. I had sent a mail giving my application details and change of address, when i got this email. Infact I had called them in March or April asking for updates, but they said that since it was withing normal processing times, they cannot give me any update and to wait to get nomination letter directly. They had then said that they MAY NOT issue a file number.

I heard that if you receive a nomination from Alberta and have sent your application to CIC, you can request Alberta province to give you a temporary visa to visit Alberta and search for job.
IS IT TRUE???

The file numbers are like XXXX-XX-XXXX. I think the 2 digits in the middle specify the year application (pre-assessement application for pre-assessement candidates) was sent to AINP. so for pre-assessement candiates this should be 08 and it should be 09 for the rest. Just my 2 Cents!!

what i think is - if the file number is generated in 2009 then its given 09-XXXX and if its generated in 2008 its given 08-XXXX ... nothing to do with pre-assessment

If the Candidate is approved as a Provincial Nominee and they find employment in their field in Alberta, the AINP may be able to issue a letter of support that would help the Candidate start working in Alberta right away, prior to their application for permanent residence with CIC being finalised.

Divagirl, Can you please let me know the e-mail address you sent the e-mail to, about your change of address? I will be moving from my current residence soon too. Thanks, Sava first congratulate to divagirl, I just wonder how could your file number is lower than Engg's? He has pre-assessement and you just filed under the new system?

So realistically all applicants who got file number in March can expect to get nimination by end of June or mid july (40 to 60 day) processing per the e-mail. But those who got file number in April and there after are in for a long wait (8 months processing time) per the e-mail

Nope...4 months for notification (guess that is when they issue file no.) and 4 months for candidate assessment. So it is only 4 months after getting the file number. So for April folks it should be somewhere around August.
