At what number do u guys call AINP...

Hi All,

I just now spoke with (AINP H1) immigration office official, he told me that I am going to get decision approximately around May 2010.

This is my timeline for AINP H1B

AINP application sent - 04/22/2009
Application received by AINP - 04/23/2009
NOC - 2173
FileNo Received via email - 11/03/2009
File NO - xxxx-xx-50xx

So it is taking more than 6 months after getting file #. So we can expect Doc. request or Nomination after 6 months of getting File #. So you heard wrongly.

Hai Dude,

thats right!

i am waiting for the same amount of time as well,

you have to wait till 12 months then if you want you can send them email and they are bound to reply with your status as per an official email that AINP send me,

if you contact them before 12 months they won't be able to answer your query as per the email,

so be patient and hope for the best,

If you look at the previous posts, It looks like it is taking close to a year to get the nomination once you get the file no.

Will the may applicants who doesn't have the file no have to wait another year to get the nomination? It is strange...Unfortunately, I am also in the same page...No file no yet.

Hi Guys,

As I posted earlier if you want you can send AINP an email asking for your status;

The answer would be they can not update you on your status till the FULL TIME PERIOD which is 12 months is over,

AINP MUST give you Status update after 12 months of regular time period is over from the date of their confirmation email (EMAIL WITH THE FILE #), once that period is completed AINP is bound to give you your status on file, period,

This is what AINP told me when i asked them by email,

And I have been seeing on this forum that people do get their Nomination in 12 months Max,

SO my suggestion is to wait as that's what AINP ask us to do and hope for the best!!

Regards,

On May 19, 2009, AINP removed the following occupations from the list:
2147: Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers)
2171: Information Systems Analysts and Consultants
2172: Database Analysts and Data Administrators
   2173: Software Engineers and Designers
2174: Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
   2175: Web Designers and Developers
   2281: Computer and Network Operators
   2283: Systems Testing Technicians

On Sep 1, 213 (Computer and Information System Manager) was removed from the list.

So there's no computer-related NOC in the list at this point.

Thanks Jasper,

Thanks for the detailed information on Computer related NOCs. IF these Computer NOCs continues,

definetely there would be floods of applications to AINP Office. It seems they opened gate for few days

for computer H1B people in US and they experienced high volume of applications...

You can always apply for a visitor visa,
If one has been in a good standing during his 6 years on H1B here, I don't think obtaining a visitor visa by telling them the real reason for your trip to US should be a problem.

This is just my opinion. Hope this gives you an idea of which route to search, when you need to come back.
