How long it takes to get FBI results ?

According to FBI website, it takes 8-10 weeks.

I submitted my request to FBI on Dec 2, but I haven't received the result yet. I will post my PCC timeline here once I receive my FBI result.

I'm planning to send my initial application without any FBI, PCC reports. Do you guys think CIC will send my application back for not enclosing these reports?
Thank you

Hi everyone,

Please, can someone who has sent and FBI application answer this question for me:

Did you send one fingerprint card  or two fingerprint cards?

Where I processed my FBI fingerprints, the woman said that I was to send 2 fingerprint cards to the FBI for Canadian Immigration.  I checked the FBI website, it states that applicants should send one fingerprint card.  This is so confusing.

Please, for anyone who has gone through this process, is it one or two?   Thanks.

one is good enough, sending multiple will just cost you more - u need to send multiple if your fingerprinting keeps getting rejected - is she giving you the second card for free? - i doubt that!

.....if u click the FAQ on FBI site u will see a

Q. 5. What if my fingerprints are continuously rejected?

Have multiple sets of fingerprints taken, preferably by a fingerprinting
technician (this service may be available at a Law Enforcement Agency).
Mail all fingerprint forms to the CJIS Division with your request.

if u both own a home in India (not any of your parents home) then you both give that address.   else give the permanent address on your passport - does not need to be same for both husband & wife.

I am planning to apply for PCC from DC embassy.  Do they return the original passports or hold them.  If hold they hold and in case of emergency how to get the passport back?  please help me with this.

Are u going to submit application personally?  All other embassys return the passport but i read in some older posts that DC does not return it....maybe u could tell them that need your passport and will get your passport along once DC receives your PCC from India....they just need your passport to stamp & that can be done if u go personally to pick your PCC - u might need to drop your passport in morning & collect in the evening.

Hello Bubbly2009,

I am planning to go to DC Embassy also on wednesday, 23rd to apply for my PCC. Please let us know if there is anything special we need to do when we go over there.
As someone suggested, I will try to get our passports back and have them stamped at the later date when we pick them up. If not, there is no choice other than leave it there.

Thanks,

I went to Houston India Consulate, they said I have no choice but to leave it with them for a stamp on the passport.

I was wondering do they just stamp on the passport ? along with it, do they also give some letter ?? any idea folks ?

They give u a document as well as stamp your passport... u need to send the document to CIC.  I believe earlier (i read in some old posts) they never used to stamp the passport but now they do.

Hi,

I am going for fingerprinting next week. The police sub station where this is done have clarified that they do not have fingerprint cards. We have to bring them.

Has anyone downloaded fingerprint card from FBI website? Which paper to use ? Is this acceptable by FBI for immigration purposes?

Someone please respond.

Thanks.
