hello folks,,,

some more info...

CIC  wrote in pencil on upper right corner of Imm0008 : "R11 ok, No rep"

i am guessing ...

no rep - might be standing for no representative
R11 ok - indicates that the office where visa was sent is ok

Looks like the officer thought my application was complete and went ahead and stamped
the reciept date and assigned office file no. etc but i am guessing later they found a small date
descripancy hence they returned it back for me to fix it....

these two operation manuals seem to be useful in understanding how this process works.

I sent a money order from BOA. Is it possible for me to check whether CIC cashed it or not.

here is thing folks... u might have to check with your bank how to figure that out but...
if u have a copy of the cheque then u can  look at it if at the bottom some where
it is written as "Integrated Payment Systems/ J P morgan chase" (many banks use this
company for clearing cashiers cheque) if it is so then this is the no. to call to check on
your status ...

Great info, thank you!!!

BTW I might need to call somewhere in Canada to find out about this... because I had the "brilliant" idea to buy the draft check to BoA in Canadian dollars Sad((
now... I am questioning about the brilliantness  of my idea Smiley)

based on trackitt.com, it is 6 months or more from the time application is filed to Buffalo till they will ask for passport. so there is still sometime to go before having the visa on hand if things go well.

Folks,

I believe many of us have received AINP nomination and applied for CIC.
Gurus - BCguys, Leon

In a sunny day scenario, I wanted to know what is the timeline to receive AOR, medical request and overall duration from CIC to landing visa issuance?

Thanks,

I checked with my bank and they said it was encashed on 14th January 2009; within 10 days of receipt of my application.
I haven't heard from CIC yet so I hope at least the paper work sent is complete. Hopefully, the process will be initiated in weeks to come. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
