The inclusive dates of validity will be on the visa. You can come on or after the initial date stated and on or before the expiration date. As to the length of allowed stay, that would depend on how long a visit you're given by the port of entry officer. For multiple entry, you can enter and leave Canada multiple times but only within the validity period of the visa and still dependent upon the poe officer.

Thanks Job_seeker for quick reply
If you can clarify further, whats the actual validity period for single entry & multiple entry visit visas? As I'm going to apply for visit visa now, to book my exam in Aug.2012.If I will apply for single entry it has validity of six months,so I can't book that exam so I thought to apply for multiple entry?
If you can put light on this matter & guide me.

Apply close to when you're supposed to come and have the visit/exam. For all you know, you can be granted a multiple entry visa with 6 months validity period. So you didn't gain anything from that.

You'd have to make the decision on this, by yourself then. It's a difference between $150.00 and $75.00. You never know, you may get lucky. Show as much proof as you can that you have every reason to go back to, to your place of origin once the visit/s is/are over.
