Beware of the Canadian police's clamp down on illegal immigration or misuse of the Canadian immigration system. The national police force of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has been appreciated for its initiative to uncover the immigration fraud happened to the Canadian immigration department.

The RCMP's Immigration and Passport and Commercial Crime Section initiated its investigation on immigration fraud on January 6, 2011. The result of the investigation was quite satisfying as the department caught 3 unscrupulous persons who assisted many hundreds of Canadian migrants in obtaining permanent resident status or citizenship in Canada. They are facing criminal charges against their unethical practices.

According to the Canadian Immigration Minister, the government is quite happy with the RCMP's approach and is concerned about the growing number of residence fraud in the country. Citizenship fraud is a severe crime where people who commit it may face undesired circumstances like leaving Canada for forever. In the meantime, the immigration department has put forward amendments to the Canada's Immigration Act, which ensure harder punishments and hefty penalties for citizenship applicants, as well as for third parties involving in the fraud.

Behaving and keeping your conduct right is very important, especially in foreign land. So, stay away from unethical practices, else you could end up being the prey of the government watchdogs.
