Hi All,
I got the invitation email to apply for my parents. They are in Canada at this moment on visitor visa, and don't have any marriage certificate for my parents(married in 60s in India, so i think not possible to get one from there as well).
Is Notary affidavit from Canada is valid in-lieu of marriage certificate is valid? They have each others name as spouse on passport.

Please advise

Hello everyone my sister has been approved as a sponsor and my parents papers has been transferred to Manila. We submitted their documents last May 5 got a reply last July 21 they sent an email saying they had received the applictation and was accepted but there was a document that needs to be updated since they posted a new one after we submitted the document. They have received the Sponsor agreement undertaking last Aug 29 and requested additional documents such as my sisters spouse NOA. She just faxed it to their office since they said it was okay and today they emailed again saying that my sister was accepted as sponsor and the documents was sent to Manila for processing. So now the question is what should we expect and how long would it take for CIC to ask for additional documents or even medical checks for my parents? I hope someone can answer me. Thank you in advance

Dear Respected Members

I have received an invitation to apply from CIC for sponsoring my parents in the 2nd round draw that took place in September 2017 and i am eligible to apply as i do meet the minimum income criteria for 2014, 2015 & 2016. Earlier this year in 2017 my wife has received her invitation to apply from CIC for her parents and she went ahead with submitting her paperwork in August 2017. I was the co-signor in her application as she was not eligible by herself to proceed with her application. Now i have the following questions for you folks regarding my application and would appreciate if any one can help me so that i know before i submit my documents to CIC for processing:

1. Am i still eligible to apply for my parents as i did co-sign for my wife's application beginning 2017 where the final decision hasnt been made yet? In the IMM 1344 form under Sponsorship Eligibility Assessment (Page 2) Qns:6 asking me whether i submitted any application before and if the final decision is pending? Should i not put "No" as an answer because i only co-signed my wife's applicant but never applied for anyone to sponsor.

2. Can my Wife co-sin in my application as she has her parents application in the queue and the decision hasnt been made yet?

Please help me out members as i really want to sponsor my parents and utilize this opportunity.

N.B: Together myself and my wife are way over in terms of our LICO for sponsoring our parents and parents in law.

There is a format for affidavit.. but if your parents are planning to return sooner, get the certificate created instead. Its easy nowadays in India

Wait for an email from Ottawa or whichever office your file was transferred to....
The office is Ottawa but going by the sheet, it looks like hardly anyone got that mail yet. So seems like even those who got SA 2 months back are waiting for it, so it could be a healthy wait time

Yes looks like Ottawa hasn't started sending the emails out yet. Hopefully soon!

Hello,

I received an email from CIC today, stating that I was approved as a sponsor and my parents files are now transferred to CPC Ottawa. I am not sure why it transferred to Ottawa instead of New Delhi. Please update the document.

Thanks
Did you put canadian address on your parents' application ?

You have the sponsorship agreement form which has all the details about how many applications you have co signed and all.. so you are good to go.
1. Yes I think you are eligible as long as you and your wife's salary exceeds the income requirement for (2+2+2=6 people)
2. Yes your wife can co-sign your application. I dont see a problem there.

The minimum income requirement for sponsoring parents is based on LICO+30% .

Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship (2016, 2015, 2014)
Size of Family Unit Minimum Income
2016
Minimum Income
2015
Minimum Income
2014
2 persons
$39,371 $38,618 $38,272
3 persons $48,404 $47,476 $47,051
4 persons $58,768 $57,642 $57,125
5 persons $66,654 $65,377 $64,791
6 persons $75,174 $73,733 $73,072
7 persons $83,695 $82,091 $81,355
If more than 7 persons, for each additional person, add $8,522 $8,358 $8,271
The Minimum Necessary Income requirement, which you must meet for each of the three years preceding the date of your application, is equal to the Low Income Cut-Offs (LICO) plus 30%.

Note: If you are applying in 2017, you must provide proof of income from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for the taxation years of 2016, 2015 and 2014.

quick question guys. I am filling out the IMM 5768E Financial evaluation for parents and grandparents sponsorship. - Do you guys think i should answer YES to QUESTION 8 and just give out my SIN number and give them access to have my NOA pulled from CRA. or should i just answer NO there and fill out the additional IMM5516 form and fill out the income requirements and add the Option C printout of the Notice of assessments of 3 years. ??

Do you guys suggest to put my parents' address as canadian or the one from back home ? they have kind of moved here, but have not spent 6 continous months here. they go back home almost every year from last 2 years.

I'd provide SIN; might save you some time.

I think it's better to provide their address from back home since they're just visitors in Canada. Declare yourself their representative (IMM5476) so all correspondence would come to either your Canadian address or email.

regarding SIN I was just wondering if i should save their time. For me its only a matter of logging to myCRA account and printing them.

regarding canadian address i was just wondering will the file be transferred to Ottawa office i put my parents' canadian address
