We got our Visa last year and emigrated within the year. Sadly it didn't wok out for us but if you have any questions about living out there (we were in the Ontario region) ask away. Also we are selling a Canadian Childs Car seat. You can't use an EU approved one on the airline from Ireland or the Uk to Canada.

Cost of living is crazy and the 13% tax on top of nearly everything is mad. Also if you are in a construction trade the exam is crazy. You need to be experienced in Plumbing, carpentry, electrics and building to pass the exam in 1 of the trade and it is $100 a go. Before you get your OHIP medical attention is expensive - a trip to hospital emergency is €300.
Mostly though it was the cost of living.
