finally got the PR visa! LA only took 8 business to return the passports with the PR visa.
Thank you to other provincial nominees who helped and answered my questions throughout this process, as well as the Seniors of this forum qorax, PMM, Leon, job_seeker, explorer101 and all the others.
To those who are still waiting, may you have more patience to see the whole immigration process through to the end. May CIC speed up their work so that we may all move on and live our lives as PR in Canada. ________________________________________________________________
My husband tried the "landing in a local CIC office" route thinking that since Regina is a small city there will be a shorter wait time for the appointment. But when he called the CIC call center to make an appointment, he was told it will take 2 months to get a slot. So he decided to flagpole at North Portal border crossing. He drove 3 hours to get there but the process was quick.
He went to the US border, told the officer there that he does not want to enter the US but just needs to turn around to have his immigrant visa validated at the Canadian side. Since he drove, the office asked what his car's plate number is. He has not memorized his plate number (don't know why) so got out of the car to have a look. He was reprimanded by the officer and was told to go back to his car. Other than that, everything was smooth sailing. At the Candian border he just handed his passport and COPR to the IO, a few questions and then he was asked to sign the COPR. The IO attached a copy of that to his passport and he went to the CBSA office.
At the CBSA office, he gave them his goods to follow list and informed them that these goods will be brought in by me, his wife. He has no goods accompanying as he is already living in Canada since 2008 on a work permit. CBSA officer told him that I should be the one to accomplish the B4 when I land. So I guess, the B4 can be filed by dependents as well and not only the principal applicant.
I will be landing on February 4 via Vancouver International Airport. I will share my landing experience at this POE, hope the Filipinos in this forum and all others who will land there can benefit from it.
