Just got email from ottawa stating that they rejected my application because  the job description mismatch NOC code. I was reading this forum and some senior here suggest reapply. I just looked in cic website and checked NOC code that I used and it disappeared. The code I used was 1232 for loan officer but the whole code section was deleted. The 2006 NOC code was replaced by the new 2012.
I don't know what to do right now!! Really frustrated! Need help!please! Sad

When did you apply? Did you go through the updated list? There must be a NOC code that matches ur job description...

If there isn't one then I am afraid you have to apply under other categories .... Such as PNP or FSW..

I found the code matches with my title. Shall I go to lawyer to ask for appeal or just reapply with a rewritten job description? Has anyone had same situation as I have? Please help! I applied on oct 19 2011, received file# on jan 26, 2012 and received refusal email on feb 2,2012. Will they usually send the original application package back to me?

Sorry to here that  but, don't worry. Appealing with a Lawyer doesn't help.

The best thing to do is to reapply with the Proper NOC code quoting relevent experience. The CIC might not send the application back to you. They might retain the documents. Gather all documents and reapply.

Good luck!!

I know you lost 500 bux. but, think of it as positive: the only thing missing was the right NOC code or they would have likely listed all the other reasons for rjecting your app. apply with the right NOC and you'll be set!

Thanks a lot for your advice. Also can anyone tell me, when I reapply, is it better to include a cover letter stating why i my job description is different from the first one, or why I think my job duties do meet the requirement etc? What did you do for those of you whohad done that before? Thank you in advance for your reply!

Hi Jen,

Sorry for your rejection..

I would really appreciate your feedback. I applied under 1232 as loan officer. The equivalent to 1232 in NOC 2011 is 6235. (I explained that in cover letter)

I have applied as International Student graduate in Feb 2012. The only thing i am worried about is that the duties which i got from my HR are not exactly same as given in NOC description as i am working in corporate loans(1 of big 5 banks).Everything else is perfect the title, salary , education and i also have the licensce (csc). I also confirm with my HR the NOC code attached to my job twicw before applying and they confirmed it as 1232/6235.

The problem with NOC explanation is that there are 50 titles and description is only for some jobs.

If you dont mind could you tell me what job you were doing or the job duties you put in the refrence letter.

Appreciate your response !!

Thanks

You initially should have applied under 1114 Other Financial Officers. Because besides doing loans, your job probably requires you to deals with investment (mutual funds), retirement, client's POA, Estate and so on. I applied under 1114 last April, got approved this March.
