Got Job in London Ontario....Need to bring in wife as visitor or spousal visa

Hello All,

  I am a newbie and pardon me if i am posting this specific question in the wrong forum.
 I have done by PG certification(Business Management) from Fanshawe and i got hired as a business manager in a Auto Repair and Service station.


I earn around 11$ an hour and have an off campus work permit. I have been working here for a month now. I am financially well settled in India and my wife works as a senior software engineer. We have properties in our name in India. I am a mechanical engineer and now hold a PG certification in International Business Management. I have only a 1 year stay back in Canada as mine was a one year program.
My employer is willing to help me in whatever way he can for me to stay back in Canada and work for him. He will hire me as a permanent employee as his is an incorporated business.
My queries are:
•   What shall I do to bring my wife to Canada for the remaining my time of my stay in Canada (10 more months left).
•   If I have a job offer (or working) will I be able to extend my stay in Canada.
•   What are the options for me to get a PR in London, Ontario and how long will it take.
•   Will it be better for me to go up north (Saskatoon).
•   What are my options as my first priority is to bring my wife in.

1. Apply for TRV (a visitor visa).

2. Yes. Either apply for a PR under PNP or a full work permit based on a positive LMO.

Hi,

Since you are not a Canadian PR/Citizen, your only option is TRV-Visitor.

I agree you have to apply for a TRV visa.

However please note that it is very difficult to bring your spouse over while you are on a student visa. Immigration officers are very hesitant to give out such visas since they believe that then neither of you will leave the country. It really doesn't matter if you have properties or a job in India, when a student tries to invite his or her spouse over it's rarely allowed, especially from India.

One of the reasons they likely gave you a student visa is because your spouse stayed back in India, to them this shows you have strong ties in your home country and will go back. When you try to bring a spouse over that takes away this tie, that's why they don't give out visas to spouses of students.

I have finished my program and now i have a  10 months stay back in Canada....
I am employed now....and my graduation ceremony is in June 2012.

Since i have a job now and studies are over i thought i can try to bring my wife as i had to come for studies real soon after i got married.

I work as a business manager for a service station in London Ontario basically creating market plans and business plans.

I know spousal visa is difficult ......and i will try for the visiting visa....

I thought Canada likes to have qualified people come here and settle here....

I have done my one year of post graduation here and i now have working experience(though so far approx 1 month).....

What do you think is the probability in percentage of me able to bring my wife here as a visitor....

what are the things from my side i should take care so that she will get the visiting visa....
Any advise will be highly appreciated as this means a lot to me....

First there is no such thing as a spousal visa for you, since you are not a PR or Citizen.

The only option is a visit visa, in terms of your chances -all I can say is that they usually don't give visit visas to spouses of students, they simply do not think either of you will go back.


Only thing I can say you could show  to increase her chances would be

1)Letter from her employer showing she is expected to be back and is earning a good salary, benefits etc..
2)Return ticket
3)Health care insurance
4)Property in your country

However even with all that they still usually reject such cases, it's pretty tough, if you do get a return ticket make sure that it is refundable.

Instead I see high chances for OP's spouse to get a TRV.

Reasons:

1. Spouse is very well established in India and can provide job details, self ITR/Form 16, Bank statement etc.

2. OP is employed in Canada. Still, he need to take care of his bank statement/financial capacity in Canada.

There will always be people who will try to say that 'this aint possible' , 'dont do it this way' blah blah .... I find it simply dumb that you have been given strong statements/advice by AAL1984 implying that CIC rarely allows spouse TRV's especially for Indians .
I have friends who were granted spouse TRV & are now PR's so go ahead and apply , keeping in mind that her case/profile should be strong and has all the details CIC wishes to see.

Hi Jiju,

International Business Management course in Fanshawe is  for 8months Duration + 4 months Co-Op, but considered as 1 yr grad Certificate.

So what was your duration of PGWP? Is it 8months / 12months?

     This is a 1 year program but is done in 2 eight month semesters.I am yet to apply for my PGWP.I will be applying this week and will let you know the results
