GOT A REPLY FROM IMMIGRATION

Unfortunately, it will take longer to process Federal Skilled Worker applications submitted under the first set of instructions (between February 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010) than originally projected. 
During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and 144,000 of these have not yet received a decision.     
This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the Federal Skilled Worker program in 2011, so many of these applicants will have to wait two years or more to be processed.  Because they reflect Canada's current labour market needs, applications under the most recent set of ministerial instructions are processed on a priority basis.
Our office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post or by email to the mailing and email addresses provided in the application. Therefore, it is important that our office be notified immediately of any change of address and contact details.

i feel so disappointed. they should have seen these things were bound to happen. they should have done something to make it right.if they have projections, how come they didn't stop accepting admissions at the time they approximated that they cannot anymore accomodate this much applications? it isn't easy to go through all the process involving money, time and efforts. some plans are given up and it is difficult to wait when you don't even know until when you have to..i hope an immigrant officer may read this.

I applied April 2009 and documents received and began the process august 2009.

I feel like I am lost in limbo right now. There is no communication from Buffalo or New York (My application seems to be passed back and forth there. I don't even know where it is anymore)

They requested  medical documents december 2010, they were sent December 2010, have not even received confirmation they got it - 6 months later now.

I understand your frustration - and yes CIC should certainly have introduced the capping system much earlier than this.

But look at it another way, if they had put a stop on applications once they reached a certain number, you might not now be in the queue at all since you may not have been able to apply in the first place. So you at least have your foot in the door, even if the timeframe is going to be longer than anticipated.

i appreciate your comment/advise, but i had a different case. before i filed my application, i was looking for a country (not necessarily Canada), where me and wife could migrate. It could be Australia, or New Zealand, or U.S., where I have my mom and sister. My consultant advised me to pursue Canada because it is a Fast Track process and my qualifications befits the FSW category, plus the fact that once I get to land in Canada, it will be easier for me to get US Visa.Then I was convinced to apply for Canada. My wife and I have been working abroad for 6 years, trying to save and we are not getting any younger. We applied for migration because we wanted to start a family and the longer it takes, the lesser we get the chance to have a baby, as the Doctor advised us. Now we are stucked. We should have pursued other countries, where there is opportunity for migration. The money that we have saved is also stucked, instead of investing it into other business.I just thought that we are risking too much, when we are not even sure when it going to happen, or if it is going to happen. no one knows. o well, that's life.

Although it is obviously easier to immigrate prior to having a child, there is nothing to stop you having a child now and adding the child to your application.

Advice on when to become parents is really something you can only decide for yourself, but if your wife is getting older than 35 it may soon become more difficult and you should IMO consider starting your family now.

having a family here in middle east is my last option, I dont know where you live but it is diffcult to raise a family here. we opted for Canada because we wanted to start a family in a country where I can let my child feel safe and secured. I also am aware it will prolong my application if I have to add a child in it..anyway, thanks
