that is right , it took time to localize urself there, life is difficut there for immigrants specially for the first 6 months. u need to do a lot more then what u used to do back home. i hope things would be smoth soon. i recomn to enhance ur contract through linkedin. how did u took money with u. DD or cash or TCs? thnx for sharing shanbaba Dear friendz,
Here is my experience: It was my big mistake that I boareded Air India flight which becomes really worse when u travel with infant. They served very bad quality food and with rude behaviour. So Plz dont at all go frm that flight. The landing formalities were done in an hour. Officer warmly welcomed us and just asked abt how much money u r carrying but did not bother to see the proofs. My frined already arragned basement for us for $600 in etobicoke for 1 bedroom set. Everythign is fine but the real problem is finding job. Even though I have IT exp. I am not getting interview calls . As of now I just recieved 3 calls. Job scenarior is worse in these days. One have to do small jobs to keep up the expensives. My suggestion is to wait for 6 to 8 months then arrive here.
Thanks, Narinder

from older posts - Narinder had taken money via pre-paid Visa card. It's commonly available in India for foreign travelers.

Toronto is the Financial capital of Canada... If Mumbai absorbs most Cas in India, am sure Toronto is the place to be for CAs.

Its really nice to hear back your wishes. Yesterday I appeared for java j2ee developer interview and today i got offer letter for that position. I am extremely happy now as I got offer within first month of my landing.
While I was looking for job I was wrongly advised that even if I have 5+ exp, i have to start studying here frm begining and cannot work here with indian education which made me little depressed. But one thing that is bad is that here there are very less interview calls as compared to India. It might get improved in another 6 months.
Jess thanks, I will surely send my email to you.

way to go... now consider yourself settled... think of moving out of the basement and into an apartment after 6 months, Narinder... get a credit card quickly... credit history is very important.

Indians always get past probation...
Please don't carry this attitude with you to Canada. I would like to think all population regardless of race have equal skills to get past probation. Nothing special about any population. (neither good or bad about any population).
