GOING TO SUBMIT DOCMENTS, NEED ADVICE.

I HAVE TO SUBMIT MY DOCUMENT TO LOCAL VISA OFFICE, I HAVE ONE QUERY GIVEN BELOW:

MY NAME ON MY PASSPORT IS WRITTEN As:       

GIVEN NAME(S): SATINDER SINGH
SURNAME:.................................(EMPTY)

WHEN I SUBMMIT MY DOCUMENT TO CIO, I FILL IN ALL FORMS FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

FAMILY NAME: SINGH
GIVEN NAME: SATINDER

NOW I THINK I FILLED WRONG INFORMATION. AS ON MY PASSPORT MY SURNAME IS NOT MENTIONED. SINGH IS MY MIDDLE NAME. PLEASE SUGGEST ME WHAT SHOLUD I DO. PLEASE ADVICE..

just refill the forms as per passport and send them. and write covering letter to them that your passport name is correct. good lcuk

veerjee...first clarify whether you or your dad used any sirname before...
If yes..then you have to make the necessary changes..but let them reply you on this..

if your educational or any documents do not contain any sirname...then i think its okay..you can say that SINGH is your sirname...afterall this is the TRUE sirname of all of SIKHS..

But I m still confused, because my cousin had the similar experience...and he was asked by the embassy to add the sirname in his passport...and he has to do many things..like giving advertisements in newspaper etc.

According to me, If your last name is SINGH in all other documents like driving license, edu docs. etc then just contact your local passport office and they will correct it within 15 days(I guess) because it is there fault (or yours, if you filled passport form incorrectly).

                                                                             OR

If your last name is not there in any docs mentioned above then send the explanation letter to CIC and you will be ok.
