Hi all,

I have 5-year multiple entry visitor's visa valid until 2017. Went to Canada last year, stayed for a month, went to the US for a month, went back to Canada for three months, and then I went back home (Philippines).

Applied for a study permit, it got approved. Got my visa. Valid until 2014.
Decided not to pursue studies in Canada, I love my life in the Philippines (LOL).

NOW. My family and I booked two vacations to Toronto this year. Will my unused study visa become an issue? I have a valid visitor's visa. HELP.

as long as you have a valid TRV, i think you are fine.  Smiley

just a question asianculture, I am also from the Phils and applied for TRV last Feb13, 2013 in CEM. How long do you think is the processing time? I saw from the website that ist 14 working days? how long was your application processed?

I envy you because I once had plans of studying in Canada, had my academic credentials assessed, however, this professional institution was not able to provide me an LOA because of the new rule in International students last Dec 2012, that only universities/colleges can issue an LOA. My assessment will expire on June 2013 and I have so much time now so I gave up on study visa. I applied for TRV to visit a relative in Toronto. I just hope the processing will not take that long, as my intended depature is on March20. Right now, I am hopeful to get the visa.

Hello!

Our application for the TRV - V1 took about 10 working days. Sakto lang. I'm sure your visa will come soon. Smiley

Why don't you try to apply to another school? Sayang naman.

Yung first visa namin (valid 2009-2012) multiple entry, tapos yung second (2012-2017) multiple entry din. I think madali lang kami nakakuha kasi family application, dependent lang ako ng parents ko Smiley

Yung first time ko nung 2009, 18 days lang ako. Yung 2012, 2 weeks tapos nag exit ako to the US tapos bumalik ulit, nag stay ako ng 3 months. 6 months yung binigay sakin sa POE, max stay. Smiley

Pray hard! Dadating din yung visa mo. Smiley pray lang ng pray. Smiley

I see, ang swerte mo nmn, sana ako din.. salamat ha?

mejo worried lang kc rejected ang parents ko so I applied separately.
next week baka try ulit namin iapply parents namen for TRV, bagong retired kc ang dad ko and he's just 53 and mom's 50 so I guess, baka nabataan ang officer na nagreview ng app nila thinking my parents are capable pa of doing some work (illegally) in Canada. ung kapitbahay kc namin e naapprove, maybe because old na sila kya madali, hay!

sana maging ok ang apply ko and ung second apply ng parents ko.
thanks ulit sau, I'll keep you posted.. Smiley
