i have a daughter, but she is on her own, and doesn't even live here in my town?....has a family and life of her own?...why wuld i have to have all these people fill out applications?

Your spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters and your children, even if they are (or are not) immigrating to Canada. Even if they are already citizens.

not so, section B says NOT to include your sponsor and Canadian citizens, cos all my relatives are citizens (wife born here, kids are waiting for their certs)

Additional Family Information
(IMM 5406)
You must answer all questions. If any sections do not apply to you, please answer “Not Applicable.”
It is very important that you list on this form any other children (even if they are already permanent residents of Canada or Canadian citizens) that you, your spouse or common-law partner or your dependent children might have who are not included in your Application for Permanent Residence. This includes married children, adopted children, stepchildren and any of your children who have been adopted by others, or who are in the custody of an ex-spouse or ex-common-law partner.

For the Additional Family Information form, you must list your spouse or partner, children, parents, and all siblings, including step-siblings and half-siblings, whether these people are Canadian citizens or not. But these people do not fill out their own forms - you just list their info on that form yourself.
For the other forms, 'family members' only means your spouse or partner, and your dependent children. So your parents and siblings, for example, do not need to send in photos and do not do the medical.
