Its tough to face situations like these. First ur personal (dad) loss and then this professional loss. Its hard to get going with these things in mind. As a friend I would suggest go for a bachelors in india. Keep your scores gud...take IELTS again and apply for masters in a good university Canada always entertains students with good academic records. Also this will give you enough time to heal those wounds. I knw that personal loss is the biggest one one can have. But someone rightly said " Life always knocks one down, but it depends on you if you wanna remain laid defeated or else at least give it( life) a challenge ! "...Stay focussed, plan about future and buck up !...Also keep an eye over the forum at least once a week, may be you can find a solution by another member abt the gap thing. And God knows if the canadian visa rules might change for your benefit. Besties !

hai rupak! Smiley Smiley

your cool man but be positive, personal loss is definitely irreversible but this i think you can change it to your favour. i am marine engineer, i had very hard life when i started my career, all i have is diploma from uk, i wanted to work in UK(not enough to fetch a job in Indian market). but i have to return to india and work in a very hard working environment for more than 5 yrs till now. i was very much disappointed  but only my dream of reaching a foreign land for better life is what kept me alive with hopes mate, Canada opportunity just came in time for me  . 5 yrs i have not worked for my luxurious life  but to meet my family needs, i waited patiently and prepared for my study plan to canada from last 8 months and i am applying for next 2012 sept intake, now i have to sail to make money for my education, and dont have enough time for all the things, i am writing this only for you rupak, i have seen many post u replied, you did a great job. actually i don't believe in luck so i wish you to have very good focused planning  and execute it to succeed. even i am waiting for a better time period mate all the best take care. Hey Rupak!
I really wanted u to get it,
But dont worry u'll make it though,
By reading all ur posts its obvious that You are a cool guy and u know wat to do next,
But i think u must b around 20yrs age, You've got Time to plan ur career

All I would say is Get a UG degree in India, and then go for Masters in Canada, USA or anywhere else u wanna go,

MAKE THIS FAILURE AS A STEPPING STONE FOR YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS
ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU
Take care of yourself
