Hi all
Which provinces & territories have Healthcare coverage from day one?

Can anybody please enlist them with links or guide me to link for the same topic discussed previously. I have been not able to locate that previously discussed topic on this forum.

I would greatly appeciate the help specially by seniors.

You have to google for healthcare in each of the other provinces if you want to know the answer for that.  They are all separate with their own rules.  If I was to answer your question, that is what I would have to do.

I know for sure that AB covers you from day one if you move from a different country but I have an idea that either Saskatchewan or Manitoba does the same.  You would have to check them both to find out which.  Maybe they both do.

Saskatchewan:

Special Classes of Newcomers
Saskatchewan Health covers health services for certain special classes of newcomers from outside Canada who move to Saskatchewan on or before the first day of the third calendar month after arriving in Canada. If you are among the groups identified below, you may be eligible for benefits from the date you move to Saskatchewan:

A. international students
B. landed immigrants
C. people discharged from the Canadian Forces and the RCMP
D. non-immigrants who are in Canada in connection with their trade or profession
E. returning spouse of a Canadian Forces member
F. returning Canadian citizens
G.returning residents
H. returning Canadian citizens

Manitoba:

Who is eligible for Manitoba Health coverage?

Returning Canadians
You are eligible for coverage the day you arrive in Manitoba, when proof of your Canadian citizenship and residence status are provided.

Permanent Resident
You are eligible for coverage on your date of arrival in Manitoba or the date permanent residence is granted.

So I would conclude that Manitoba  Saskatchewan alongwith Alberta offers Medical Insurance Coverage from day one.

Leon & PMM please correct me if I am wrong.

Wish you all Success

Always Hopeful
