hi,

i am currently in US. as for canada immigration, we need police report. does anyone know, what is the procedure or best way to get the required police report in US?

You'd have to contact the police department in the cities were you have lived in the US.

You need a record from FBI.  You have the instructions on FBI website.  Get fingerprinted and send the fingerprints plus the check and you will get your record within the few weeks.  Fingerprint card is avaibale on-line (FBI site), some PD's have them also. Contact the State Police in your home state, and the states where you may have lived in the past.  Each state has different routines.  Some requires fingerprints, some can do a SSN & name check.  Each record cost $25-25 depending on the state and will take 2-4 weeks.
