Hey there , until you are approved and officially granted permanent residence in Canada, all you can do is come to Canada and stay here with your wife and do nothing but wait. You won't be able to work etc..This is assuming you are a US citizen and don't need a visitor's visa to come to Canada.

The waiting period for US is 3-13 months with 30% of cases being processed and finalized at the 3rd month and 80% at the 13th month. So, March, April, May , June- 4 months-- you have a 30% chance !

So, you actually can live in Canada in the meantime, while you are waiting?  You don't have to wait in the US?
