getting a visit visa for spouse and child while I have a PR card.

Hi All,

I am currently living in the UAE, and am a PR card holder for Canada. We moved to the UAE from Saudi Arabia in March 2010. I want to take my wife and baby to Canada on a visitor visa, so I can then sponsor them inland.

The mistake I made earlier was applying one month after I moved to the UAE, and the visa got rejected.

Now, I have been here for almost two years, have bank statements, salary certificate, tenancy contract, car ownership documents, among others...my wife is a housewife, so she is dependent on me.

How would you guys recommend I am able to get a visit visa, despite a rejection a year and half ago. I can get an invitation from Canada from a friend of mine to visit him for his 5 year anniversary, and he said he would be willing to get it notorized as well. If I provide all the documents, would it be possible for my wife and child to get a visit visa just to go on "vacation" to canada? Will those documents be sufficient enough to show close ties to the UAE?

What if I do not include my PR card copy to the application? Do they have it already on file that I am a PR card holder? She can say I am not traveling with her, and we can apply for the visa for her and my child as well. Any suggestions on the case? Thanks.
