I have applied for SW immigration from Cairo, Egypt and got the immigrant visa for my wife, my son and myself. Just days after we got the Visas, my wife delivered my second baby.
We contacted the Cairo office about adding the newborn to our application and we paid the fees and sent the updated application. We were waiting for the medical exam for the baby to get Visa for her to join us.
Days later, due to the protests in Egypt, the Cairo office announced it is closed until further notice and that it cannot be contacted.

Any option I have to get a visa for her or some authorization or anything due to the unusual circumstances in the country now?

Thanks

I guess they might have transferred Egypt enquires temproraly to London or Abu Dhabi VO. The note at CIC site gives you the right to contact any other VO.

I suggest you send a fax with Urgent attention to AbuDhabi since it's the nearest or Damascus and ask for guidance.

Don't wait and act now.

"Notice

The Canadian visa office in Egypt (Cairo) has suspended its activities until further notice

For more information, visit the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, which includes Advice for Canadians in Egypt.

Due to circumstances beyond the Embassy of Canada's control, as of January 31, 2011, the services of the Visa and Immigration Section of the Embassy of Canada to Egypt are temporarily suspended. The visa office cannot respond to enquiries at this time. Temporary resident applications (for visitors, students and temporary workers) may be submitted to any other Canadian visa office in person. Please DO NOT send any correspondence or applications to the visa section in Cairo.

Visitors whose status in Canada is due to expire and who are now unable to leave Canada because of the current situation in Egypt must apply to extend their visitor status.

My suggestion is that you have to approach any Canadian embassy nearest and easy to reach. Apply for a TRV for your Baby as a special case considering the current situation in Egypt. Once you land at Canadian airport talk to the Immigration officer could get the details of your baby and perhaps you may have to fillu up a form over there. He will guide you accordingly for further process to get the baby's status changed in Canada.

However there can be different opinions too on this topic.
