I used search and got umpteen results about the LMO.  The employer I am trying to work for has done all the steps with putting the job up on job bank, with the NOC, and the required credentials to hire. I am really trying to turn my life around and I got 2 months left on my visitation here in Calgary.

So, What is usually the approval rate of a LMO?
Can I file a extension for stay, if so, where?
What would be the reasons why they would not approve the LMO?

Thank you for all the help, any extra information would be nice too.

The approval rate will depend on the type of job being offered.

A highly skilled vacancy where the foreign applicant is clearly the most experienced and qualified of the applicants stands a good chance.

However, a job requiring medium or no skills will probably fail as there will be qualified Canadian or PR applicants. Service canada are also becoming more fussy about where and how the posts are advertised. Just doing the absolute minimum may not be enough.

This is for a Motorcycle Technician Job, not just a regular Mechanic job.

So, she approved me for the job, now I am just waiting to hear back from the LMO office.  She said that she put me down as a visitor, cause I don't have a work permit.  Is that gonna affect my approval status?  I was told at the Montana border that once the lmo is approved come back down and get the work permit.  Does anyone know anything about what I have going on?

I am approaching week number 8 and still hasn't heard anything.  Anyone know the length of how long I will still be waiting?  Patience, and money, is starting to run thin.
